Help Us Bring Our First Secondary School |
In January 2013, we laid the cornerstone for our first secondary school in the village of Gampéla, approximately 12 miles northeast of the capital city of Ouagadougou. Our first school will be a modest, one-story, cinder block structure consisting of 3 classrooms and an administrative office/library/meeting room. The total cost for this first school is approximately $50,000 of which we have raised $22,000.
We are requesting $8,000 for the following items in order to erect our school.
* The remaining 2,000 cinder blocks will cost $1,500 for the purchase of cement and will be made by volunteers.
* The concrete foundation for the school will cost $2,000
* Transportation to move the bricks to our Gampéla site and to store the bricks in a secure container/building will cost $1,500
* A construction manager and workers to erect the initial structure will cost $3,000. Some of the construction work will be done by volunteers from the Association Burkinabé Pour la Promotion de l'Education.
